How to make your Facebook private

Facebook, Make Facebook private     No comments

Facebook is a wonderful tool you can use in keeping in touch with old friends, family and anyone else you care to talk to. But that digital freedom comes at a cost: your privacy. Fortunately there are ways to make sure that only the people you want to see your Facebook profile can – unless of course somebody knows your password.
The steps to making your Facebook private is actually relatively easy once you familiarize yourself with the increasingly bloated user-interface. So where do you begin? Read on.

1. Privacy Shortcuts
There are two easy ways to get to the necessary privacy settings of your Facebook profile. In the top right, you will see a button to the right of your name – it has a padlock sign on it and three horizontal lines. Press it and then select 'See More Settings' at the bottom.
How to make your Facebook private
On the other hand, you can click the little cog settings button located in the very top right next to the aforementioned Privacy Short button and then select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. The end result is exactly the same in either case. Now you can set your privacy to your standard.

2. Who can see my stuff?
Under the Privacy Settings and Tools heading you will see three questions in bold letters: "Who can see my stuff?", "Who can contact me?" and "Who can look me up?". Let's start with the first heading on the list.
i) "Who can see your future posts?": click the edit button on the far right. Select who you want to see your future Facebook posts from the drop-down menu. Naturally, public will be the opposite of private so set it to "friends" if you only want Facebook friends to see them.
How to make your Facebook private
Also you can select "only me" if you want only yourself to see what you post, or click "Custom". Custom allows you to select specific options including "Don't share with", meaning you can choose a particular Facebook friend or friends you no longer wish to share posts with. You can also block lists you are a part of, such as a school network.
If there is a post you want to limit the visibility of, the "Review all your posts and things you're tagged in" setting located below allows you to do just that. Hit the "activity log" button and use the pen edit button to delete specific entries you no longer wish to share.

ii) Who can contact me?
If you want to stop getting messages in your inbox from people who aren't your Facebook friends, you can use the message-filtering option under "Who can contact me?". Switch it from basic filtering to strict filtering to only see messages from friends in your inbox. Doing so will keep random messages from strangers at bay.

iii) Who can look me up?
Maybe you want to limit who can look up your Facebook profile. The "Who can look me up?" options allows you to set your privacy to your preference in this regard. With friends enabled, only your friends can look you up using your email address.
The same options can be said for your phone number i.e., if you entered one into Facebook. Again, you can select the friends option for the highest level of privacy.

Finally, you can choose whether search engines such as Bing and Google can be linked to your Timeline. A simple tick box option is all it will take to really shut your Facebook profile off from the world wide web. As Facebook states, this option can take a while to come into effect so don't panic if it seems like you are still coming up on search engines.

Do you want ultimate privacy?
To really ensure your privacy, there is always the option of leaving Facebook entirely. Of course, this is a drastic course of action but something like online bullying could force your hand (in which case, you should seek support). Or maybe you are just tired of sharing everything so publicly.

Poke symbols are simply small images of a hand with a finger pointing and the name of the person who sent the poke to you. If you have been poked, the image will show up on your home page. Only you can see the poke once you receive it. Depending upon your notification settings, you may also receive a notification informing you of the poke.
POKE APP
In addition to the standard poke, Facebook also has a poke app that allows you to send a message, photo or video that only displays for a limited amount of time such as 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds. The recipient must also have the poke app on their phone, and these pokes cannot be viewed or sent from a desktop.

To poke someone via the poke app:
  • Download the app onto your phone.
  • Log into your Facebook account in the app.
  • Confirm that you want to use the app under that name.
  • Select “Poke a friend with a message, video or chat.”
  • Type in the name of your friend or select a name from your list of contacts.

  • Hit “Send.”
To view a poke you have received, just tap and hold the message, photo or video until the time runs out. Removing your finger from the screen will cause the message, photo or video to disappear. Once it’s gone, it cannot be viewed.

How can you create a Facebook group

 Facebook, Facebook Group     No comments

A group is meant to be a close circle of people who keep in touch and share on Facebook.

People have different reasons for creating groups on Facebook. Groups may be created around things like:
Topics
Books (think of it like a book club)
Their business (sort of like an "insider's club")
To sell items locally
Exclusive membership site
Support groups

In my humble opinion, there is no "Wrong" topic for a group, it all depends on the reason for which it was created.
How can you create a Facebook group

How can you Create a Facebook Group

1. Find "Add Group"

From your "home page" on Facebook, go to the ''Groups'' section on the left side menu and find "Add Group".

The number of things you have in your ''Favorites'' will determine how far down you have to scroll to see this.

Once you get there, it will look like this: For an even quicker way simply go here: https://www.facebook.com/addgroup

2. Click on "Create New Group"

You'll be taken to a page that displays the option to create a group which also shows you some suggested groups to join.

Begin the process of creating a group by clicking on "Create New Group".

There is an alternative way to create a new group on Facebook:

On the right hand side of the "Create New Group" button you'll notice options to choose "Group Ideas" By clicking on any of these selections (Family, Classmates, Sports Teams or Book Club), you're immediately taken to the ''create screen''  just like if you clicked "Create New Group".

3. Name Your Group

The first thing you need to do is give your group a name.

This name can be whatever you want, and you can change it later but try to create a memorable & searchable name for your group so people can find it.

4. Add Members

You're actually required to add at least 1 friend to the group before you can create it and if you don't you'll get the error message below:

So in order to create your group, you'll need to add at least 1 friend to the group.

5. Choose Privacy Setting

You will need to decide what privacy setting you want your group to have.
This is probably the most essential choice you will make while creating your group as there are some limits to changing it as you progress.
If you have less than 250 members, you will be able to change the privacy settings as you see fit, but as soon as your groups grows to over 250 members, you can only change an ''Open group" to a "Closed'' or ''Secret'', and a ''Closed group'' to ''Secret''. You won't be able to change the privacy again after this. There can be confusion about what privacy setting a group should have -- Open, Closed or Secret.

6. Click Create

After you choose your privacy setting, click on the "Create" button as you've seen in previous images:

7. Choose an Icon

Facebook will now give you the option to choose from a wide array of creative graphics for your icon/avatar. This is completely up to you and bears no significance as far as Facebook is concerned but if you've created many groups or have multiple groups in your favorites, you'll want to choose an icon you can easily identify.

Your group is now officially created!

There are, however, a few more items you can customize.

A. Complete the "About" Section

Your about section is important for 2 reasons:
  1. Gives prospective members an idea what your group is about
  2. Can display any "rules" you may have about the group
So fill it out as you see fit, seeing as this is YOUR group.

B. Choose Group Image Setting

You're given the 3 options here:
use images from group members (will show a maximum of the last 8 active members)
use a photo already in the group
upload a photo
*Keep in mind the dimensions for this cover photo are different from those on your personal Timeline or business Timeline -- they are 801 x 250 pixels.

C. Edit Group Settings

Next you'll want to edit the group settings. You do this by clicking on the gear icon & then clicking "Edit Group Settings":

Once on the edit page, you'll have many options to change:

Items you can change:
  1. Group Icon
  2. Group Name
  3. Privacy Settings
  4. Membership Approval -- Do you want to let anyone add members or should only you be able to?
  5. Set a Group Address -- Here you'll have a chance to give the group a custom url as well as an email address where people could email the group directly

D. Change your Description:

Change Posting Permissions -- Here you can decide if only admins can post or if members can as well
Post Approval -- You can require that all posts be approved by an admin before they go live

Once you're done & happy with the settings, click "Save".
You're Group is Ready to Go!

You've now successfully created a Facebook Group!!

Now you can post updates inside the groups -- and so can members (if you've allowed it).

Group Features to take note of:

1. Notifications- As an admin you should probably turn the notifications on to receive all updates when anyone posts -- just in case someone spams the group & you want to respond quickly.

2. Messages/Chat- One of the great things about groups is you can initiate a group chat/message with either all members of a group or select members. This is especially useful when you have an announcement to make or need to quickly collaborate on an item/issue.

3. Events- A feature probably not used often enough in Groups is Events. Inside the group you can create events that only members can see & RSVP for. Just click on the "Events" tab & then "Create Event" and a lightbox will load to create your event.

4. Files- Inside groups you can share files of any kind as well as create Documents which group members can add to & collaborate on.

Think of this as your own little workspace within Facebook -- or perhaps a replacement for apps like Basecamp or Dropbox.

Now that you've read this post, hopefully you can now successfully create a group on your own.

How to delete a group on Facebook you made | Delete FB group without administrator

Admin Facebook Group, Delete Facebook Group, Delete FB, Facebook Group     No comments

How to delete a group on Facebook you made | Delete FB group without administrator: We will show you how to delete a Facebook group you no longer interested in managing.

How to delete a group on Facebook you made | Delete FB group without administrator

Facebook groups are deleted when they have no members. If you created a group, you can delete the group by removing all its members and then yourself. Admins can't delete a group they didn't create unless the original creator chooses to leave it.

If you are the only administrator left in the group, it means permission to manage the group has been given to you (If you did not originally created the group). So, you can delete the group if you wish. Follow the steps below to delete your FB group

How to delete Facebook Group That You Created

    • Go to the FB group you wish to remove and click Members on the left
    • Click next to each member's name and select Remove from Group
    • Select Leave Group next to your name once you've removed the other members
There are scripts that automatically remove all members from a Group so you can delete the group at peace BUT I personally does not trust some scripts out there.

Note: Deleting a group is a permanent action that can't be reversed. If you're an admin, you can archive the group instead of permanently deleting it.

Please share this article with friends on Facebook, I'll really appreciate it💖💖💖. Thank You!

If you have any issue concerning Facebook group deletion, kindly let us know via the comment section.👇👇👇

The truth behind Facebook following me

     Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

A newest Facebook hoax making rounds and causing fears of online stalking is ''following me''.

The truth behind Facebook's following me
But the story has been dispelled by experts who say the social media site is still as safe as ever.
The myth that has been circulating claims that each user has a hidden list of “followers”. That is to say, the followers are people who can see what you post without being accepted as a “friend”.

The rumor is that if a Facebook user goes to their settings section and types in “following me”, the site will reveal a list of ''covert followers''.
Fortunately this myth is just that- a myth and it is not the first time the hoax has reared its ugly head and scared social media users.

A user who claimed to have uncovered the trick wrote: “I just learned something new. If you go to account settings, blocking, block users, and type in “following me”, without the quotes, you might be surprised just who is following you. I had a lot people on it that I had no clue who they were. They are blocked now. I had to block them one at a time. Creepy... Most were middle eastern persons and all my posts are to friends, not public.”
But typing ''following me'' into a search bar will simply display a list of other users with “following” or “me” in their names or contact information.

According to Facebook’s Help Center, you go to the right corner and select settings, then click public posts, then select friends or public next to who can follow me.

     Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

A new Facebook hoax which has gained popularity this week is scaring some people into thinking they are being stalked by unknown people.
Facebook users are being bamboozled and deceived into spreading the myth that a hidden list could expose who your stalkers are.

    Facebook's hoax alert! Following me

It further goes ahead to claim that those followers would be secretly stalking you, your statuses and updates.
The rumor says that Facebook will give you the list if you go to your ''Settings'' - to ''blocking and privacy'', and type in ''following me''

Realistically, when you type into the search bar, Facebook WILL give you a list of friends, places, etc. So, what you are seeing is actually just a list of people who share some letters with the words ''following'' and ''me''.

Fortunately, the myth is just that - a myth.

Trump dismisses Facebook Hoax | Russian Controversy

Facebook hoax, Hoax, Latest Hoax     No comments

“The Russia hoax continues, now it’s ads on Facebook,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “What about the totally biased and dishonest Media coverage in favor of Crooked Hillary,” referring to Hillary Clinton, his rival in the 2016 presidential campaign.
    Facebook Hoax
Trump dismisses Facebook Ads As Part of Russian Hoax
Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook, for the first time, would now make it possible for anyone to see any political ads that run on Facebook, no matter whom they target.

Facebook also will demand that political advertisers disclose who is paying for the advertisements, a requirement that under U.S. law applies to political ads on television but not on social media.

A message is spreading out throughout Facebook that declares customers could see who is discreetly following them by going to the obstructing area of their setups and keying in "following me". This is simply the most up to date variant of a long-running scam that greater than most likely initially generated as an outcome of a misconception of Facebook's privacy setups.

How To Delete Facebook Account Completely

     Delete, Facebook     No comments

How To Delete Facebook Account Completely: If you want to quickly get rid of your Facebook account completely, you need to delete your FB account permanently. Although, the process might not be that easy and you may need to make sure you are out of Facebook circle completely.

How To Delete Facebook Account Completely

If you are truly ready to call it quits, then we can help you completely delete Facebook from your life without any traces of you on Facebook. You've to go through different process to ensure you delete your Facebook account completely. If you are ready, then let’s start.

    Keywords:
    • www.facebook.com/help/delete account
    • how do i deactivate my facebook account
    • facebook account delete option
    • how to delete facebook account permanently without waiting 14 days
    • how to delete facebook account permanently immediately
    • delete my account
    • how to delete fb account permanently from mobile
    • how to delete facebook account without password

Please note that when you will “delete” your account permanently, it will become impossible to retrieve it back. If you even have a tiny feeling that you might want to access your account in the future, then it is better to “Deactivate” your account instead of Deleting it permanently.

To start, you may first need to log in with the account which you would like to delete permanently. Without logging in you cannot delete your account, if you can’t login due to any reason, then click on “Forgot your password?” and follow instructions to get a new one.
    Backup all Facebook Data

Now, that you are logged in and ready to delete your Facebook account, it is better to first make a backup of all your important data so you won’t regret later.

From your FB home page, click on the upside down triangle located at the top right corner of the screen. From the drop down menu, click on “Settings”.

In “Settings”, you will see the option of “Download a copy of your Facebook data”, click on it.

From the next page that opens, click on “Start My Archive” and confirm the prompt. After that, Facebook will create a zip file of all your data and send it to you via email and you can also download from the same page. Just wait a minute and refresh the page and you should be able to see a download link. To complete the whole process, you will be required to provide your Facebook password.

    Remove Your Facebook History

Although this step is not compulsory, but if you like to delete all your previous interactions with other people, then you can easily do it. This involves your comments, likes and other interactions, however, the personal messages you sent will still remain.

To delete your past activity, click on Privacy (it has the Padlock icon). From the drop down menu, click on “See More Settings”.

On the next page, click on “Use Activity Log” and you will see all your Facebook activity. You will have to delete your activities individually by clicking on the pencil icon next to each activity and clicking on “Delete” from the drop down menu.
    Remove all Linked Accounts
This step is very important, you should unlink your account from all the apps accounts that you logged in using your Facebook account. This will stop you from accessing that app with your Facebook account automatically, and also stop further collection of information.

However, the information you have already shared may still be stored in the database of the app and you will have to contact the app developer to remove that information.

To remove linked Apps and services, go to “Settings” by clicking on the drop down menu with upside down triangle on.

In “Settings” click on “Apps” from the menu located at the left side. In there you will see all the apps and services which you logged in using your Facebook account.

To unlink these apps from your account, click on the “X” button located on right side of each app and from the prompt click on “Remove”. If you would like to delete the previous posts from a specific app, check the checkbox in the prompt before clicking on “Remove” (although, it may take some time to delete).

You will have to remove each and every app manually, make sure you don’t miss any.

    Delete Your Facebook Account Permanently

Now, that you have played your part right, it is time to let Facebook delete your account permanently. However, it is not that easy as you may think, accessing the “delete” page is not that easy (Facebook doesn’t like people leave). Furthermore, it will take total 14 days before your account is deleted permanently with no way of getting it back.

To access the delete page, you can make a quick search in your preferred search engine or search for it in Facebook “Help” located under the upside down triangle icon menu. To reach the link easily you can also click on this Link.

Click on “Delete My Account” and provide your Facebook Password and fill a Captcha. After that, click on “OK” and the 14 day process of deleting your account permanently will start.

Now, make sure you don’t access your Facebook account via any mean. This includes your Mobile devices and third-party apps (the reason why we unlink all of the apps). If you do somehow end up logging in and cancel the process, then you should go through the delete account process again to delete your account.

This also means, that you have 14 days time period to rethink your decision and change it, otherwise, say goodbye to your Facebook account after 14 days with no way to recover it.
We hope this post has helped you delete your Facebook account Permanently and completely? Please share it!
