How to Block Someone Who Has Already Blocked You on Facebook

Access Facebook, Account, block, Create New Facebook, facebook login, FB     No comments

When someone blocks you on Facebook, you can no longer write on that person's timeline, start a conversation with him, tag him in photos or even find him in search. Although blocking goes both ways, meaning that the person who blocked you loses his privileges as well, he can always unblock you to regain those privileges. If you want to make sure that person stays blocked even if he unblocks you, you can do so only if you have the email address he uses to access his Facebook account.

How to Block Someone Who Has Already Blocked You on Facebook
1. Click the padlock icon in the blue bar at the top your Facebook page. This is a shortcut icon to your important privacy settings.

2. Choose "How do I stop someone from bothering me" to open the blocking form.

3. Enter the email address of the user you would like to block and click "Block." Although the directions say you can also enter a name, since this person has already blocked you, that method will not work.

You can see a list of blocked users, and unblock them if you wish, by clicking the gear icon, choosing "Privacy Settings" and selecting "Blocking" in the left column.

How to close Facebook account temporarily and permanently

If you choose to deactivate your account:

  • You can't regain access once it's deleted.
  • Deletion may be delayed a few days after it's requested. A deletion request is cancelled if you log back into your Facebook account during this time.
  • It may take up to 90 days to delete data stored in backup systems. Your info isn't accessible on Facebook during this time.
  • Some things aren't stored in your account. For example, a friend may have messages from you after deletion.
  • Copies of some material (example: log records) may remain in Facebook's database but are disassociated from personal identifiers.
So, if you choose to close your Facebook account temporarily or Deactivate your account, here's how to go about it:

Facebook's follow me- A bizarre hoax

 Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

Have you been on Facebook over the last couple of days? Then you have probably seen some version of this chain message going around:
"If you go into your ACCOUNT SETTINGS then to BLOCKING (on left side of screen), then in the BLOCKED USERS search bar type in “following me” without the quotes, you might be startled by who is following you. Unfortunately you have to block them one at a time, which is annoying. I had twenty in the list and knew none of them. I blocked all of them. You might share or copy/paste if you found this helpful".
Facebook's follow me- A bizarre hoax

Like so many things on Facebook, it’s totally untrue. It is true that if you input “following me” into the search bar you would otherwise use to block people, a string of seemingly random and irregular people will come up. But unlike what the perpetrators of this hoax may want you to think, these accounts don’t belong to some secret network of spies — neither are they part of a grand conspiracy on the part of Facebook. Rather, they’re just the unfortunate victims of a search function that was grossly misused.

They are definitely not stalking you!

Here’s why: When you search “following me,” Facebook doesn’t show you who is actually following you. (If you actually want to see that list, you have to click on the Followers section under your Friends List.)

Searching this term on your Block page pulls up a list of users whose names and general information match the terms following and me as closely as possible. And though you see the names of all of the corresponding users, what you don’t see is all of the hidden and private information Facebook derives its matches from — like nicknames, “About Me” descriptions, and employment information. And that’s what the list is actually being generated from.

Unfortunately, however, everyone who has fallen for this hoax is pulling up this list, and many of them are desperately contacting the people on it, demanding to know why they’re being followed. For the most part, the people who match these criteria are unfortunate random people who are made to bear the brunt of this cruel joke - most of whom have their Facebook accounts locked down. But there’s another category of people who appear on the now-infamous list: fun-seeking trolls.
The trick is that, since Facebook's updated version allows you to add a nickname, most people add "following me" to their name. When this is done, typing ‘following me’ into the block-people list would show you nothing but random folks.

Soon after changing your nickname, your inbox will be flooded with thousands of messages from people asking who you are and why you are following them.
Being exposed to the brunt of a Facebook hoax’s power is apparently pretty harrowing. Quite a few voluntary members of the “following me” list quickly removed themselves after finding their inboxes flooded with messages.

Facebook's following me hoax is making rounds again

     Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

You may have seen people warning you on your Facebook feed that there’s a secret list of people following your posts and that supposedly, they not your friends, but complete strangers.
The posts then direct you to search “Following Me” in your Facebook "block" tab and there will be a list of names you don’t recognize.

Facebook's following me hoax is making rounds again

The problem is, it is all a hoax that your Facebook friends are unknowingly perpetuating.
This isn’t the first time a following hoax has sank its fangs into people on social media. A similar claim was investigated in January that people from “Facebook security” were paid to watch people on the platform.
    Both are untrue.

    How to Merge Facebook Accounts

Merge, Merge Account, Merge Facebook Account     No comments

How to Merge Facebook Accounts - While  Facebook does not allow users to auto-merge all friends, photos, status updates, check-ins or other information, you can manually merge parts of your FB accounts.  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to migrate or re-create all of your data on FB.

    How to Merge Facebook Accounts

How to Bulk Download Facebook Data

As a first step, download your data. This procedure can take a while and the archive will serve as your small backup, should you decide to deactivate or delete your Facebook account. It won’t be of great help in restoring any data, though.

Briefly, go to your General Account Settings and click Download a copy of your Facebook data at the bottom.

This will lead you to a page where you can download your information and get a copy of what you have shared on Facebook.

Now do start your archive on this first page. In addition find where it says You can also download anexpanded archive… and click the respective link. This will guide you to the Expanded Archive download page where you will be asked to re-enter your password.

Now here is where you will need patience. Depending on how big your main and your expanded archive are and how many other archives are in the queue, this can take some time. And with that I mean a couple of hours.

    Smart Links:

    • Have you changed your email address on Facebook?
    • Facebook remove from group notification
    • How you can change your Facebook password

Note that you must download both archives, to receive a full backup of your account!

Once your archive is available for download, this is what the page will look like.

Although your own photos are supposed to be included in the archive, you should download your Facebook Photos separately. Not only is this procedure another backup, it is also a lot faster and might provide you with more options.

    Restore Friends

As mentioned above, you won’t be able to restore or migrate all of your data and that includes your friends. You need to manually add friends to your new account. Unfortunately, it is not possible export your Facebook friends to a third party account and then re-import them to a new Facebook account.

However, you can import contacts from third party accounts such as Skype or Gmail. So if you have contact details of most of your friends on accounts outside of Facebook, you can take a small shortcut. Go to your new Facebook account and import contacts from any supported third party account (CSV files are also supported) via the Find Friends page.

While you can export your Facebook contacts to Yahoo! Mail, it is not be possible to re-import them to Facebook. And contacts imported from Facebook will certainly not be included in a Yahoo! CSV file.

Note that only contact information of friends who have agreed to have their email address included in information downloads can be imported into your Yahoo! account.

    Restore Account Data

Here comes the big letdown. There is no way to upload or otherwise import your archive to restore or transfer data from your old Facebook account to your new one. Whatever you want to restore, you have to do it (semi-)manually or use third party tools. Right now, the archive merely serves as a personal backup, nothing more.

So what are your options? You can re-add your old friends as shown above, re-upload photos you downloaded from your old account, re-tag your friends in your photos, re-join groups you were a member of, re-add Facebook apps, manually re-do all your personal settings, including general account and privacy settings, e.g. secure your Facebook account, add trusted contacts, or hide your personal settings. I wish I had good news, but as I said before, you cannot auto-merge two accounts or restore data, so you essentially start from scratch.

Facebook follow me is the new hoax

     Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

The current misleading story going around Facebook claims that there is a way to see accounts that are secretly following you.

Facebook follow me is the new hoax

It is good to know that the "following me" claim is NOT true. According to fact-checking site Snopes, the supposed spies could be found by going to the ''Block Users'' section under Settings.
They are then revealed when you type in "following me" in the search field.
In actual sense, what users are getting is a list of people with the words "following" and "me" somewhere on their profiles, not a pack of clandestine agents.

Snopes pointed out that a similar false charge was made earlier in the year around January. That time, the ''Men in Black'' were discovered by typing "Facebook security" in the field.
Users of the social media site have to navigate these types of hoaxes every few months. Previous scare tactics included a "copyright claim" to prevent losing ownership of posted content and a hacker named "Jayden K. Smith."
For people who do want to limit who really can see their postings, the Facebook Help Center provides information on how to change settings.

Rapidly review an application before you install it. Search in the "About" section to verify that it will do exactly what you want it to do, and also do a quick Net search to confirm that the application is genuine instead of being a scam. Look something along the lines of "Application Name reputable" or "Application Call fraud."
Considering that these applications do not purely violate Facebook plan, they are not generally prohibited unless proven to be spam.
As soon as the app is set up, you could put the stat counter code inside the HTML or FBML box it presents.

        2. Locate a totally free counter service online. There is no single HTML code that will certainly generate a common web page counter. [2] Because of this, you will certainly have to do a Web look for "complimentary HTML page counter" or "free HTML stats counter."
Testimonial the terms of the counter service carefully prior to using it. See to it that it does not need any type of personal information, consisting of login information for your Facebook account, and make sure that it is 100% complimentary.

If you just made a brand-new buddy or satisfied someone knew, they might be the source of an increased variety of page views.
If you just broke up with somebody or had a falling out with a pal, this could result in a decline in web page views.
If you suspect that somebody has actually been adhering to or stalking you, and also you see your counter numbers rise, this may support your uncertainties.

If you recently networked with an additional business or reached a new customer base, look for increases.
Look for rises if you began a new promo.
Expect declines if you shed a significant customer or had a current scandal.

        1. Sight the good friends in your chat bar or the pals provided on your timeline. Facebook specifically specifies that the friends at the top of your conversation sidebar "are individuals you have actually connected with often or just recently on Facebook." [5] The exact same applies to those pals detailed in the friends area of your primary timeline screen.
Keep in mind that people that only view your account without commenting, preference, or otherwise providing physical proof of their presence will certainly not normally appear on either list.
The interaction Facebook makes use of goes both methods. To puts it simply, individuals on your conversation sidebar or timeline are people you talk to frequently as well as those that talk back frequently, too. The listing is not purely composed based upon people who often see your account.

The good friends you connect with frequently will appear over and over again, however a few random pals will constantly be thrown in, too. These random buddies will alter as you rejuvenate the web page, yet the continuous ones will rarely transform.

Responses are sectioned off right into three areas: approved invites, turned down invitations, and invites still awaiting a reply.
Allegedly, the top 5 people listed in each category are the pals in each group that see your account most often.

        3. Kind each letter right into the search bar one at a time. In your Facebook search bar, begin keying out a search request merely by typing the first letter of a possible request. Do this one letter each time, erasing the first letter before beginning with a new one.
If you lately checked out a good friend whose name begins with that said letter or regularly see a close friend whose name begins keeping that letter, that buddy will be the initial in the checklist to appear.
On the other hand, if you type a letter that does not come from such a buddy or if a person whose account you hardly ever visit turns up at the top of the outcomes, there is a good possibility that the close friend who shows up is either the last individual to visit your page whose name started keeping that letter or the individual who visits your web page the most.

        4. Take a look at your good friend tips. Your good friend ideas can supply hints about who could be looking into your profile even though they are out your buddy's listing.

If you get a friend idea from someone without any shared or mutual friends, there is a suitable possibility that the individual being recommended is a person that saw your account.
If you get a pal idea that shares a mutual friend, the suggested pal could or could not have watched your profile.
